What does Cap stand for?

Freedom and protection
Idealist – follows beliefs over government

He’s not perfect and he knows it
Gave up on identity in 70s – didn’t want to represent the corruption
Return not letting ideals be defeated by corruption – can admit was wrong
Able to notice he ideas are out-dated

Ideals over politics and popularity
Cap’s political allegiances are never discussed
He doesn’t use his position to further any political agenda
Turns down the offer of being a presidential candidate
- choosing to fight for his incorruptible American dream in his own way

Doesn’t allow others to compromise his ideals
When during the Reagan administration made the costume and costume public property, expecting Cap to become theirs to command
Instead of being a political pawn he handed in is costume
Cap created a new identity for himself – The Captain – in red white and black
John Walker instead became Cap

Worthy of Thor’s hammer
Manages to lift Mjolnir
Also managed to hand it back – can resist temptation to preserve ideals

Considered and compassionate
Thoughtful, humble
Appreciative of contributions toward the greater good (no matter of nationality, gender, religion…)
Always tries to do what’s right
Open minded

Patriotism
- the quality of being patriotic; vigorous support for one's country.

Nationalism
- a feeling that people have of being loyal to and proud of their country often with the belief that it is better and more important than other countries

- a desire by a large group of people (such as people who share the same culture, history, language, etc.) to form a separate and independent nation of their own

Jingoism
- the extreme belief that your own country is always best, often shown in enthusiastic support for a war against another country

Idealist
- Characterized by idealism; unrealistically aiming for perfection
